About the Nursery Deputy Manager Position

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, shifts between 7.45am - 6.15pm

  • 52 week contract

  • Salary: £9.32ph

  • Based in Acocks Green area

  • Nursery based in a deprived area - supporting children with behavioural needs and working very closely with outside agencies

  • Supporting the manager in the day to day running of the nursery and stepping up in there absence to become the acting manager

  • Room based role, with some office responsibilities

  • Understand ratios

  • Delegate staff within the rooms

  • Key children: plan, observe, consider next steps and link to the EYFS

  • Support staff and apprentices with EYFS framework, planning and quality of work

  • When asked: do show arounds and inductions for new families, making each new customer feel welcome, important and special

  • Administrational duties and reporting

  • Dealing with outside agencies

  • Complete risk assessments

  • When asked: Lead or assist staff training

  • Open and lock up the building

  • Go above and beyond the job description

  • Good computer skills and knowledge of using childcare systems

Requirements to apply for the Nursery Deputy Manager Position

  • Must hold a minimum full and relevant level 3 in childcare qualification

  • Must have minimum leadership or similar deputy experience in a childcare setting

  • Understand the processes involved with dealing with outside agencies within the childcare environment including social services and other important organisations

  • Have good computer skills
