Company Ethos and Expectations

We expect the following from our candidates:


  • To arrive promptly, depending on your booking hours of work. If it was a last minute booking, please advise us when contacting you whether you can get there at a reasonable time, if it’s going to take you a while please state  when I call so that I can check with the Setting. If you are booked in advance you are expected to arrive 15 minutes before your shift so that you can start promptly.

  • To carry your DBS and Photo ID at all times.

  • To carry a paper timesheet at all times and to make sure that you get the times confirmed at the end of every shift or the end of every week by a member of management.

  • To dress appropriately, NO: jeans, tracksuit bottoms, combats, trainers, vests tops.    YES: professional clothing/smart; black trousers, polo shirt, blouse, fleece

  • No jewellery. This includes rings, necklaces and facial studs. Only one pair of stud earrings is acceptable.

  • To familiarise yourself with the settings safeguarding, fire emergency and Risk Assessment policies, following these at all times and have regard to Solutions 4 Educare’s policy and procedures.

  • To remain at the Nursery, Education or Childcare Settings until the Manager or Deputy say that you are able to leave. If you are booked in until a certain time check before going that they no longer need you. Sometimes you may be required to work additional hours.

  • Turn off your Mobile upon entering a setting. Safeguard yourself and make sure you do not have your phone in the room at any time. It must be secured in your bag at all times apart from breaks or lunch. Sometimes Nurseries and Schools will take your phone off you and keep it in safe with other members of staffs belongings.

  • If you are unavailable to work due to sickness you are required to notify the Company as soon as possible of your sickness absence and the reasons for it.

  • Be Hands on! Ask when entering the room what needs to be done and join in. Get down onto the children’s level interacting and engaging them at all times. You are there to assist and should be offering to help with any duties that need to be completed. You may be required to help with feeding of babies and children. Cleaning apparatus, activities, outdoor play and sleep times


In order to ensure we can give you the bookings that you want, remember to keep us up to date with your availability and the type of assignments you are interested in. Also, try to remember to check your mobile for messages at lunchtime and after work hours. Often we have to get back to Schools and Childcare Settings quickly to confirm bookings before the end of the day
